• A month after Oct 7, on Nov 8, 2023 cites casualty figures, omitting even a mention of Hamas, telling viewers “over 4300 children have been killed, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah.” 'Since the Palestinian Authority was kicked out of Gaza by Hamas in 2007 it has had no sources for Gaza casualty figures, save for the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry. That is, Gaza casualty figures from the PA Health Ministry in Ramallah are just relabeled casualty figures from Hamas.'

• Weeks after Oct 7 [11.15.23], she interviewed longtime Israel critic [historian turned activist and cricizued by prominent holocaust historians] Omer Bartov and one could sense she was eager he labels the "genocide" term on Israel, not on Hamas.

• On Oct 14, 2025, as hostages were freed, Amanpour was forced to apologize after claiming freed Israeli hostages were "treated better" than Gazans during live coverage of their release. The comment sparked backlash from viewers and Israeli commentators for downplaying the hostages' suffering. The outrage was heightened by the timing, as images showed emaciated hostages, including Matan Angrest, who was reportedly beaten and held in darkness for months, reuniting with families after 738 days in Hamas captivity.
