Haaretz's Nir Hasson and Islamic-Arab racism, supremacy: 2021

In the tense weeks leading up to and throughout Operation Guardian of the Walls in 2021, Haaretz and its Jerusalem affairs "reporter" Nir Hasson remained conspicuously silent on the wave of vicious antisemitic attacks by racist Arabs targeting visibly religious Jews—particularly ultra-Orthodox yeshiva students—pious Torah scholars who neither carry weapons nor serve in the army, adhering strictly to their religious convictions.

From as early as April 2021, particularly Apr 14 and onwards, documented incidents surged: Arabs slapping Haredi Jews, knocking off their hats and fur shtreimels in deliberate acts of humiliation, and assaulting peaceful religious individuals in Jerusalem's streets and Old City. These were not isolated events but a clear pattern of grotesque Arab racism, with videos circulating widely showing groups of Arab youths gleefully targeting Jews solely for their identifiable Jewish appearance. For two full months, Haaretz offered not a single word condemning this blatant hatred against innocent Jewish civilians.

Instead, the despicable Nir Hasson appeared to bide his time, waiting for any pretext to unleash a pre-prepared smear against Jews. That "opportunity" came in mid-June 2021, during the rescheduled Jerusalem Day Flag March—where thousands of mostly peaceful right-wing participants, around 5,000 strong, celebrated Israel's unification of Jerusalem with pride and Israeli flags.

In the Old City, one Arab provocateur openly expressed regret that Hitler hadn't finished the job against all Jews. This pro-Nazi outburst understandably provoked a response from some frustrated Jewish youths. Yet, true to Haaretz's shameful pattern, Hasson rushed to publish his long-held draft—not to denounce the Arab's genocidal Nazi sympathy, but to vilify the Jewish marchers with sensational clickbait headlines and (click baits) loaded extremist buzzwords designed to demonize proud Jews asserting their rightful presence in their eternal capital.

This selective outrage exposes Haaretz's deep bias: ignoring months of unprovoked Arab racist violence against defenseless religious Jews, while eagerly amplifying any Jewish reaction to paint the victims as aggressors. Such hypocrisy undermines Jewish safety, while emboldening those who harbor real hatred toward the Jewish people.
